Mary has been a clinical social worker for over 20 years, many of them with The Providence Center. She has provided community-based, office-based and emergency services in a number of positions, and Mary’s expertise is derived from the combined experiences of all these opportunities.
She is genuinely interested in the growth of all individuals, but has a special interest in the adolescent population, where she has gained much experience working within different levels of care. “Helping teens with the difficulties of social and emotional development is very important during that challenging phase.”
Mary’s assessment skills are also a strength, and she enjoys educating clients to understand their symptoms. Mary’s treatment approaches are directed at helping clients identify healthy choices in all areas: nutrition, social, exercise, and media to make health changes at all levels. She considers herself an eclectic treatment provider, drawing on a variety of evidence-based treatment methods to help patients.
Mary earned her bachelor’s degree at Rhode Island College and her master’s degree in social work from Springfield College.
